Killing Eve star Jodie Comer takes over Broadway in her powerful performance of Prima Facie, a scorching critique of the legal system, opening tonight at the Golden Theatre. Comer portrays Tessa, a young woman from a working-class background in Liverpool who has risen to become one of London’s most promising defense lawyers through her intelligence and sharp instincts. But Tessa’s world is shattered when she becomes the victim of a violent rape. Despite her knowledge of the legal system, she finds herself trapped in its web of questions and insinuations. Comer skillfully portrays Tessa’s journey from self-confidence to panic as she navigates the long and arduous path to justice.
