Warning: SPOILERS For Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2, Episode 6 – “Lost In Translation.”Paul Wesley brings Lieutenant James T. Kirk to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds in season 2, episode 6, “Lost in Translation.” After playing two alternate universe variants of Captain Kirk, Wesley now portrays the iconic Kirk who will one day become the Captain Kirk played by William Shatner.

In Strange New Worlds season 2, episode 6, Kirk meets Ensign Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) for the first time. Kirk helps Uhura solve the secret of a nebula that’s causing her horrific hallucinations. But by the end of the episode, Kirk and Uhura not only form the bond that will carry into Star Trek: The Original Series, but Kirk also meets his future best friend, Lt. Spock (Ethan Peck), as well.

FilmmakerFocus had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Paul Wesley about his 3 different versions of Kirk, creating arcs and Star Trek canon with Uhura and Spock, and whether he would like to star in a Star Trek reboot as Kirk alongside Ethan Peck as Spock. Note: This interview was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike, and the show being covered here wouldn’t be possible without the work of writers and actors in both WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
