The Dodgers have reversed their decision to ban the drag group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from LGBTQ+ Pride Night, and have extended an invitation for them to attend. The MLB team issued a statement apologizing to the group and the LGBTQ+ community, following pressure from conservative Catholic organizations who claimed the group was “mocking” them. The exclusion of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence caused backlash from the LGBTQ+ community, as it went against the event’s core value of inclusivity. The group has accepted the Dodgers’ apology and will attend the 10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16th. The Dodgers have pledged to work with their LGBTQ+ partners to strengthen ties and support all fans who make up the diversity of the Dodgers family. In response to the ban, the mayor of Anaheim invited the group to attend the Los Angeles Angels’ upcoming pride night event, stating that “pride should be inclusive.”
