Breaking news! Production on the highly anticipated drama series Duster, executive produced by J.J. Abrams, has been suspended. The Max period drama, which follows the first Black female FBI agent as she recruits a daring getaway driver to take down a growing crime syndicate, had its production shut down in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Monday morning. The reason? IATSE and teamsters refused to cross the picket lines in support of WGA members, who have been on strike for 21 days. Even Abrams himself was on the picket line at Fox Studios in Los Angeles on May 5th. This is just the latest Max series to be shut down, following the disruption of The Penguin starring Colin Farrell last week. And it’s not just Max series feeling the impact – earlier today, FX drama series The Old Man starring Jeff Bridges also suspended filming on season two. Stay tuned for updates on when production will resume for Duster, which boasts an all-star cast including Rachel Hilson, Josh Holloway, Keith David, Donal Logue, Camille Guaty, Sofia Vassilieva, Dan Tracy, Gail O’Grady, and Greg Grunberg.
