Exciting news! Paradigm has just signed Umbrelic Entertainment, the innovative film finance and production company founded by Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz. This LA and Detroit-based company has been making waves since its founding in 2018, demystifying the film industry for new investors and producing or financing over a dozen films. Recent releases include the horror thriller Monstrous, starring Christina Ricci, and the crime thriller American Murderer, starring Tom Pelphrey and Ryan Phillippe. But that’s not all – Umbrelic has some amazing projects in the works, including the sci-fi thriller Share with Bradley Whitford and Alice Braga, the action-packed Hellfire with Stephen Lang and Harvey Keitel, and the dark comedy Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose, starring Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver, and Christopher Lloyd. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg – Umbrelic has a number of other projects in development that are soon to be announced.
But Umbrelic isn’t just a production company – they also operate OutPostX, a full-service post-production arm that offers post-supervision, mastering, quality control, and delivery services. This additional layer of security and peace of mind helps subsidize post-workflows for indie filmmakers and provides even more value to Umbrelic’s investors.
Umbrelic’s co-founders are also impressive individuals. Zambeck has over 15 years of post-production experience and has shepherded over 1,500 projects to global delivery. Katz is a sales professional with over 20 years of experience in the technology, manufacturing, and private equity fields, and is also active with The Children’s Center, a non-profit helping abused children living below the poverty line.
Umbrelic is definitely a company to watch, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll do next. They’re represented by Goodloe Law and the Detroit-based Dizik, Faber, and Kaplan, and we’re sure they’ll continue to make waves in the film industry.
