Germany’s Largest Theme Park, Europa-Park, Evacuated After Massive Fire Erupts

A massive fire has hit Euro-Park Germany, the largest theme park in the country. Visitors have posted videos showing active flames and huge clouds of black smoke in the park’s Spanish-themed section, Magic World of Diamonds. An eyewitness reported hearing loud bangs before the fire broke out. The park has issued a statement on social media, saying that they are working closely with authorities and emergency services. Firefighters are currently working in the affected area, and visitors are being escorted out of the park. Thankfully, the park has announced that the fire is now under control, and there have been no reported injuries. Europa-Park Germany is set to reopen on Tuesday.

This theme park is a popular destination, welcoming over 5 million guests every year and boasting more than 100 attractions, including thirteen roller coasters, six hotels, a camping site, a tepee village, a cinema, and a conference center. In 2020, it was the second most-visited park in Europe, after Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the park has experienced a fire. In 2018, a fire broke out in a building complex near the Holland and Scandinavia areas, resulting in tens of millions of Euros in property damage. However, the park reopened the next day, and thankfully, no visitors or employees were injured.
