Get ready for a hilarious reunion on Broadway this fall! Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells, who first shared the stage in the hit musical The Book of Mormon, are teaming up again for Gutenberg! The Musical! This Scott Brown-Anthony King production, directed by Alex Timbers, promises to be a full-throated celebration of the universal urge to put on a show.
The limited 20-week engagement will begin previews on September 15 at the James Earl Jones Theatre, with an official opening on October 12. Gad and Rannells are thrilled to be working together again after 12 years, with Gad jokingly admitting that he didn’t have the energy to do a one-man show.
The design team includes Tony Award winners Scott Pask (scenic design) and Jeff Croiter (lighting design), as well as Tony nominee Emily Rebholz (costume design) and Cody Spencer & M.L. Dogg (sound design).
Produced by Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Patrick Catullo, Bad Robot Live, Seth A. Goldstein, Isaac Robert Hurwitz, Kristin Caskey, and Mike Isaacson, Gutenberg! The Musical! has been staged across North America, as well as in the UK, Australia, France, Spain, and Korea.
Brown and King are thrilled to see their “warped little valentine to musical theater” reach a Broadway audience, especially with Gad, Rannells, and Timbers at the helm. Don’t miss this breathtaking tour de force of virtuosity, irreverence, and cheeky wit!
