TikTok collaborates with Candle Media and backs Reese Witherspoon’s quest for undiscovered storytellers

Candle Media, owned by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, has teamed up with TikTok to uncover hidden gems from the #BookTok community. The partnership will initially focus on Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, with the aim of discovering underrepresented independent authors and literary material. TikTok plans to use Candle Media’s storytelling capabilities to launch new and inspiring premium content and branded entertainment. The partnership will elevate and amplify underrepresented storytellers, bringing their stories to life through premium film, TV, and audio projects. #BookTok is one of the most prominent communities on TikTok, and the platform will also sponsor the next chapter of Hello Sunshine’s LitUp Writer Fellowship program, giving underrepresented female storytellers funding, mentorship, and marketing. Candle Media, which owns Moonbug Entertainment, ATTN, and Exile Content Studio, has 600 million followers across social platforms and will become a TikTok Pulse Premiere publisher. The partnership is a match made in heaven, with TikTok experiencing explosive growth and becoming a critical platform for storytelling and marketing. The Cannes Lions ad market is taking place in France this week, with talks from Kevin Hart, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Michael Johnson.
