Dolly Parton’s Retirement Plan: Hoping for a Stage Exit Mid-Song

Dolly Parton, the iconic singer, has no plans of retiring anytime soon. In fact, she recently revealed that she hopes to continue performing until the very end. During an interview on Greatest Hits Radio, Parton boldly stated, “I would never retire. I’ll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song onstage someday, hopefully, one I’ve written. But anyway, that’s how I hope to go because we don’t have much of a choice in that.”

Parton emphasized that as long as she is able to work and her health remains good, she sees no reason to slow down. She acknowledged that the only circumstance that would make her consider slowing down is if her health or her husband’s health deteriorates.

In the meantime, Parton is determined to make the most of her time. “In the meantime, I’m going to make hay while the sun shines,” she added with a smile.

Recently, the singer also shared her thoughts on the idea of becoming an AI hologram after her passing. In an interview with The Independent, Parton expressed her reservations about the concept. “I think I’ve left a great body of work behind,” she said. “I have to decide how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be involved [with] because I don’t want to leave my soul here on this earth.”

Despite her concerns, Parton remains optimistic about her legacy. She believes that even after her physical presence is gone, her work will continue to resonate. “I think with some of this stuff I’ll be grounded here forever… I’ll be around, we’ll find ways to keep me here,” she said.

Currently, Parton is busy working on her upcoming album, Rockstar, which is set to be released on November 17. This will be her first venture into the rock genre, adding another milestone to her illustrious career.
