The highly anticipated new Taylor Swift album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), has hit a minor snag with its vinyl editions. It seems that a small number of the vinyls have been mistakenly filled with British electronica music instead of the beloved pop princess’s songs. One fan took to TikTok to share their discovery, playing a snippet from the album only to find Cabaret Voltaire’s “Soul Vine (70 Billion People)” instead of Swift’s “Mine (Taylor’s Version)”.
Swift’s record label, Republic Records, quickly addressed the issue, stating, “We are aware that there are an extremely limited number of incorrectly pressed vinyl copies in circulation and have taken steps to rectify the situation. If you have purchased one of these affected vinyls, please reach out to customer service at your respective retailer for a replacement or refund.”
Despite this hiccup, the album continues to soar in popularity since its release on July 7. In its first week alone, it has already sold over 575,000 equivalent album units, making it the biggest one-week sale of the year so far.
