Tubi Appoints Anjali Sud, Former Vimeo Chief, as CEO

Tubi, the streaming platform that Fox acquired for $440 million in 2020, has announced the appointment of Anjali Sud as its new CEO. Sud, the former chief of Vimeo, will assume her new role on September 1 and will report to Paul Cheesbrough, CEO of Tubi Media Group. This move comes after Tubi founder Farhad Massoudi left the company and Cheesbrough took over his newly created group.

With 64 million monthly active users, Tubi has become a crucial part of Fox’s strategy as the company adapts to the growing popularity of streaming over traditional linear viewing. The platform aims to be the go-to destination for the next generation of audiences, offering free streaming TV to all viewers.

Sud brings a wealth of experience to her new position. During her tenure as CEO of Vimeo, the service attracted over 300 million users. Prior to that, she held positions in finance, media, and e-commerce at Time Warner and Amazon. Her track record for strategic disruption and authentic leadership makes her the perfect candidate to lead Tubi into a new era of creativity, growth, and market leadership.

In a statement, Cheesbrough expressed his confidence in Sud’s abilities, stating, “Anjali is a highly accomplished executive in the technology and media industry. She is the perfect candidate to lead Tubi into a new era of creativity, growth, and market leadership.”

Sud herself is excited about the opportunity to shape the future of entertainment and give all people access to the world’s stories. She believes that Tubi is doing things differently in a space that is ripe for disruption, and she is eager to be a part of it.

In addition to Tubi, Cheesbrough’s group includes AdRise, Blockchain Creative Labs, and Credible, as well as the digital platforms and teams connected to Fox’s digital news, sports, and entertainment initiatives. This diverse portfolio positions Tubi for continued success in the ever-evolving streaming landscape.
