Andrea Iervolino, the talented producer behind Michael Mann’s highly anticipated film Ferrari, has just made a groundbreaking investment of approximately 50 million euros, or $55M U.S., in The Tuscany Film Studios. This state-of-the-art production facility, soon to be operational in central Italy, is being hailed as “a technologically advanced super studio” with the country’s largest virtual set and the first 360 studio for live-action productions. But that’s not all – Tuscany Film Studios will also boast a luxurious movie theater and hotel, all with the aim of attracting the crème de la crème of international productions.
It’s worth noting that Tuscany Film Studios will face stiff competition from the iconic Cinecittà, a Roman institution that has been a magnet for renowned filmmakers like Federico Fellini, Martin Scorsese, and Paolo Sorrentino since the 1930s. However, with its cutting-edge facilities and strategic location, Tuscany Film Studios is poised to become the most sought-after studio in Italy.
But there’s more to this project than meets the eye. Guided by the principles of the “European taxonomy,” a key component of the EU’s sustainable finance framework, the studio will prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility. Construction is set to begin soon and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Andrea Iervolino himself expressed his excitement about the venture, stating, “Tuscany Film Studio will be the most coveted studio in Italy, located in the most desired destination in Italy for luxury American tourism. The studio will accommodate both national and international productions in order to attract the greatest global entertainment talent as well as new capital and international investments in Italy to contribute to the growth of the sector in our country.”
Iervolino, through his company Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment, has an impressive track record of producing successful films such as Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, Tell It Like a Woman, and the upcoming Elizabeth Banks thriller Skincare. His latest project, Mann’s Neon drama Ferrari, starring Adam Driver as the legendary car manufacturer’s founder, will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September before hitting theaters on December 25. In addition to his film ventures, Iervolino is also involved in the public company TaTaTu S.p.A. and the private entity Space 11. He even acquired an ownership stake in the esteemed U.S. soccer club Miami FC earlier this year.
With Andrea Iervolino’s visionary investment and the promise of a cutting-edge production facility, The Tuscany Film Studios is set to revolutionize the Italian film industry and attract top-tier talent from around the world.
