Priya Dogra to Depart Warner Bros. Discovery After 14-Year Tenure

Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA boss Priya Dogra is bidding farewell to the company after an impressive 14-year tenure, as her role is being closed. Dogra, who has been serving as President & Managing Director, EMEA since the high-profile merger of Warner Media and Discovery, will be leaving at the end of this year. Her departure was announced in an email from her boss Gerhard Zeiler, which was obtained by FilmmakerFocus. The email states that going forward, the EMEA team will report directly to Zeiler and Dogra will not be replaced. The EMEA team is divided into regions, with Antonio Ruiz overseeing UK and Ireland, Christina Sulebakk in charge of Nordics, and Jamie Cooke responsible for the Baltics, Middle East, Mediterranean, and Turkey.

Zeiler expressed that the news of Dogra’s departure will come as a surprise to many, as she has been a key partner and instrumental in many important developments at the company during her time there. Dogra has held various roles within the company, including Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Time Warner, Head of Strategy and Corporate Development for WarnerMedia, and President of WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks EMEA & APAC prior to the mergers. Her promotion to the large EMEA role under Zeiler after the WBD merger was seen as a significant achievement. The international community, as well as the staff, will be taken aback by her departure, as she was scheduled to keynote the RTS London confab in a few weeks.

Warner Bros. Discovery is currently undergoing layoffs and restructures as it navigates through macroeconomic shocks, the streaming downturn, and dual strikes. The company is facing challenges but remains committed to adapting and moving forward.
