EXCLUSIVE: Get ready for the next big thing from Kim Kardashian! The reality star turned entrepreneur is making waves in the film and TV industry with her latest project. Netflix has secured the development of Calabasas, a TV series that Kardashian is executive producing alongside her American Horror Story co-star Emma Roberts, Pretty Little Liars creator I. Marlene King, and Alexandra Milchan (Tár). This highly anticipated series is based on the book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now by Via Bleidner, with King leading the adaptation and showrunning.
In the spirit of The O.C. and Beverly Hills 90210, Calabasas follows the story of Via, a 16-year-old girl from the Midwest who finds herself in the glamorous yet complicated world of Calabasas High. Kardashian, King, and Lauren Wagner from Long Lake Media, Roberts from Belletrist Productions, Karah Preiss, Matt Matruski, and Milchan are all on board to bring this captivating story to life.
This exciting project came together quickly after King’s pitch to Milchan, with WME facilitating the collaboration between Kardashian, King, and Roberts. Kardashian’s involvement has added a significant boost to the project, given her global influence. This marks her fourth major project since the strike, following the success of Fifth Wheel on Netflix, an untitled thriller on Amazon, and a legal drama series on Hulu in partnership with AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy.
The collaboration between Kardashian and Roberts is a reunion from their work on American Horror Story: Delicate, and Roberts has been expanding her producing portfolio with hits like Tell Me Lies on Hulu.
Don’t miss out on this exciting new series that promises to deliver drama, intrigue, and unexpected twists. Stay tuned for more updates on Calabasas as it continues to develop.
