Cory Shields Departs Amazon as Vice President of Communications

Breaking news! Cory Shields, the former VP Global Media and Entertainment at Amazon, has stepped down from his position after more than three years at the company. Shields, a seasoned executive from NBCUniversal, joined Amazon Studios in early 2020, just before the pandemic hit. As the top PR executive at Amazon, he worked closely with Mike Hopkins, SVP of Prime Video and Amazon Studios. Shields’ direct reports will now report to Drew Herdener, SVP Worldwide Communications at Amazon, while the company searches for a replacement. Prior to his time at Amazon, Shields spent two decades at NBCUniversal, where he held various high-level positions, including EVP Communications for NBCU Cable Entertainment and EVP Global Policy Strategies and Alliances.
