SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher Urges Members to Authorize Strike, Citing Stakes for Acting Careers

Attention all SAG-AFTRA members! Your acting careers are at stake and it’s time to take action. President Fran Drescher is urging you to vote “Yes” for strike authorization in advance of negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. This will give our negotiating team the leverage they need to ensure that our employers don’t continue to devalue the performers who bring productions to life.

But don’t worry, approving a strike authorization doesn’t guarantee a strike. It simply sends a strong message and shows our unity as we fight for our future. The deadline to vote “Yes” is Monday, June 5th at 5 pm Pacific, so don’t wait! Head to sagaftra.org/contracts2023 to cast your vote.

We need at least 75% of voting members to approve the strike authorization, but let’s aim for 100%. Let’s show the industry that we won’t stand for undervaluing our talent. Hear President Drescher’s message and join us in this important fight.
