Blink49 Studios has just announced their exciting new partnership with Transatlantic, the literary agency representing some of the most renowned authors and storytellers in Canada, the US, and beyond. This marks Blink49’s second major deal with a management company in the past year, and it’s a big one. Under the agreement, Blink49 will have access to Transatlantic’s impressive author and IP roster to create original projects. Plus, they’ll have the first look on international distribution rights alongside Blink49 investor Fifth Season.
Transatlantic represents a wide range of talented writers, including Khaled Hosseini, the author of the beloved novel The Kite Runner, as well as Iain Reid, Marissa Stapley, Naben Ruthnum, Katherena Vermette, Amy Stuart, MG Vassanji, Karma Brown, Jesse Thistle, Zoe Whittall, Samra Habib, and Catherine Hernandez. With over 800 clients and offices across the US, Transatlantic is a force to be reckoned with in the literary world.
Blink49 CEO John Morayniss expressed his excitement about the partnership, calling it a “first of its kind in Canada.” He added, “By fostering a close-working relationship, we’ll provide Transatlantic clients with significant opportunities and upside to bring their stories to a global television audience.”
This deal comes on the heels of Blink49’s joint venture agreement with Canada’s Vanguarde Artists Management just a few months ago. And with the recent addition of Fifth Season exec Mal Stares as Senior VP, Global Scripted, Blink49’s slate is looking better than ever. From Hallmark’s rodeo-themed family drama series Ride to CTV’s Sight Unseen from Sisters Troubetzkoy Productions and an adaptation of the upcoming novel Hold My Girl, Blink49 is poised to bring some incredible stories to the screen.
