Nevada Governor Signs $380M Public Funding Deal for Oakland A’s Retractable Roof Stadium in Las Vegas

Exciting news for baseball fans! Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo has just signed a bill into law that will provide $380 million in public funding to build a brand new, state-of-the-art stadium for the Oakland A’s in Las Vegas. The retractable roof stadium, which will cost a total of $1.5 billion, will be built on the site of the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, one of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas. The 30,000-seat stadium is set to be the smallest in MLB, but it will be packed with all the latest amenities and technology.

Of course, there’s still one hurdle to clear before the A’s can officially call Las Vegas home. Major League Baseball owners must approve the move from Oakland, and that decision won’t be made until their meeting in New York on June 13-15. In the meantime, the A’s will play their games in a Triple A affiliate’s stadium in Las Vegas.

This move has been a long time coming, and it’s sure to be a game-changer for baseball in Las Vegas. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project moves forward!
