Get ready to be blown away by Ashley Avis, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed documentary Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West. Not only did her film earn her a Special Congressional Commendation from Congresswoman Dina Titus, but it also took her on a five-year journey of over 20,000 miles, chronicling wild horses in 13 different states. Avis is a passionate advocate for horses and has written, directed, and produced six features and over 100 commercials to date. She’s currently in post-production on The Lamb, a film that follows an eight-year-old boy on a quest across the Arabian desert to save the orphan lamb he loves. And that’s not all! Avis was recently tapped to write and direct a reimagining of Wim Wenders’ classic 1987 romantic fantasy City of Angels for Warner Bros, Atlas Entertainment, and Perez Pictures. She’s also the Founder & President of the nonprofit The Wild Beauty Foundation, which develops educational programs to help protect the wild world and rescue horses in need. Don’t miss the chance to see Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West when it screens for members of Congress in Washington, D.C. on June 22nd.
