Ryan Reynolds is taking his love for Wales to the next level! The actor, producer, and investor has teamed up with Welsh public service network S4C to bring a weekly block of Welsh-language content to his Fubo channel in the US. Dubbed “Welsh Wednesdays,” the six-hour programming block will feature a curated selection of shows, including drama series like Joio and Artists Studio’s Bang, Rondo’s Petrol Head (Pen Patrol), and Afanti’s Red Wall (Y Wal Goch), as well as documentaries and sports programming.
This isn’t the first time Reynolds has shown his love for Wales. He and Rob McElhenny recently became the owners of Welsh football club Wrexham FC, and their docuseries Welcome to Wrexham has been a hit on Disney+. Now, Reynolds and McElhenny are even investing in Formula 1 team Alpine.
S4C Chief Content Officer Llinos Griffin-Williams praised Reynolds for his commitment to Welsh culture and language, saying, “This commercial deal will take Welsh language content to Hollywood and the world. It will benefit the entire creative sector and talent pool here in Wales as we showcase everything from S4C dramas to entertainment formats, documentaries and sport. We’re a small nation that punches well above our weight.”
With Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Channel, a joint venture between Fubo and his production company behind the Deadpool movies, this partnership is sure to bring even more exciting content to audiences around the world.
