Exciting Changes at Viaplay: New Operating Model Unveiled!
Viaplay is taking bold steps to combat the economic downturn. The company has introduced a new structure that involves a team of Nordic-based executives who will focus on local segments and optimize their organizations for maximum efficiency.
This announcement comes on the heels of Viaplay CEO Anders Jensen stepping down after five years. He will be replaced by former MTG CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann. Additionally, the streamer’s Swedish and Norwegian operations will merge, as we reported earlier this month.
Madsen Lindemann will also serve as the interim CEO of Viaplay’s Finnish operations, in addition to his role as President and CEO of the wider company. The search for a permanent appointment is currently underway.
Exciting new appointments have been made within the company. Lars Bo Jeppesen, former Snap Nordics boss, has been appointed as EVP and CEO of the Danish and Icelandic operations, starting from August 1. Kenneth Andresen has been named interim CEO of the Norwegian operation.
Peter Nørrelund, who recently rejoined Viaplay as EVP and Chief Sports & Business Development Officer, will now also oversee the company’s operations in the Netherlands, Poland, Baltics, and the UK.
All these leaders will report to Madsen Lindemann, along with other key executives responsible for various aspects of the business.
The new structure will be implemented from July 1, and each leader will review their respective organizations to ensure optimal performance and focus. The financial impacts of these changes will be revealed in an update on or before July 20.
Madsen Lindemann expressed his vision for the company, stating, “This is the first of many changes we will make to invest in areas with the greatest potential, focus on creating locally relevant products and experiences, and stay close to our customers. We are committed to improving the competitiveness and performance of all our operations.”
