Attention Twitter users! If you’re frustrated with the recent changes on Elon Musk’s social media platform, we have some exciting news for you. Instagram’s Threads is here to save the day! This app, which is set to launch on July 6, is now available for iOS users to download. Unfortunately, Android users will have to wait a little longer.
So, what exactly is Threads? According to the app’s description, it’s a text-based conversation app where communities can come together to discuss all the topics that matter to them. Whether you’re interested in the latest trends or want to connect with your favorite creators, Threads has got you covered. You can even build your own following and share your ideas, opinions, and creativity with the world.
But that’s not all! One of the best features of Threads is that Instagram users can seamlessly transfer their username to the new platform. No need to create a new profile – it’s a smooth transition all the way.
The launch of Threads couldn’t have come at a better time. With Twitter users searching for alternatives due to viewing limits imposed by Musk, this app provides a refreshing change. Musk claims that these limits were necessary to combat data scraping and system manipulation. Initially, verified users were restricted to reading 6000 posts a day, while unverified users could only read 600 posts. New unverified accounts were limited to 300 posts. However, Musk later increased these limits to 10k posts for verified users, 1k for unverified users, and 500 for new accounts.
