Dolly Parton is opening up about her thoughts on becoming an AI hologram after she passes away, and it seems like the country singer isn’t too keen on that technology. “I think I’ve left behind a remarkable body of work,” Parton shared, as reported by The Independent. “I have to decide how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be involved [with] because I don’t want to leave my soul here on this earth.” She added, “I believe that with some of this technology, I’ll be grounded here forever… We’ll find ways to keep me here.”
The publication also mentioned that Parton humorously referred to any intelligence she possesses as artificial.
Last year, ABBA introduced a residency concert in London called ABBA: Voyage, where fans could witness the Swedish group as they appeared in 1979. Whitney Houston was also brought back as a hologram for a posthumous concert tour titled An Evening with Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour. The tour began in Europe in 2020 and concluded on New Year’s Day 2023 in Las Vegas. Parton is now preparing to release her first rock album, fittingly named Rockstar, which will be available on November 17. “I’m thrilled to finally present my first rock and roll album, Rockstar,” expressed Parton in a statement. “I am incredibly honored and privileged to have collaborated with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time, and being able to sing these iconic songs throughout the album has brought me immeasurable joy. I hope everyone enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.”
