EXCLUSIVE: Tika Sumpter Joins Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment!
We have exciting news to share! Tika Sumpter, the talented actress, has officially signed with Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment. This move marks a reunion between Sumpter and her former agent, DC Wade.
Recently, Sumpter showcased her directorial skills with her captivating short film, Night Off. The film, written by Kiana Butler Jabangwe, premiered at the prestigious 2023 Sundance Film Festival as part of Hartbeat’s Women Write Now fellowship.
But that’s not all! Sumpter’s upcoming project is MGM’s hilarious sports comedy, The Underdoggs, directed by Charles Stone III. The film tells the story of Jaycen Jenning, also known as “2J’s” (played by Snoop Dogg), a former NFL superstar who finds himself coaching a youth football team instead of going to prison. It’s a heartwarming tale of redemption and second chances.
And there’s more! Sumpter also reprised her role as Maddie Wachowski in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the original film released in 2020. She received praise for her portrayal of a young Michelle Obama in Miramax’s feature film, Southside With You, which she co-produced with the talented John Legend.
Sumpter’s impressive resume includes notable films such as David Lowery’s The Old Man And The Gun, Nobody’s Fool in 2018, Ride Along 2 in 2016, and the 2012 hit Think Like A Man, among others. She continues to shine in the entertainment industry.
In addition to Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, Sumpter will be represented by UTA and Hansen Jacobson Teller. We can’t wait to see what amazing projects she takes on next!
