San Francisco Officials Reject Installation of New Twitter Logo

In a surprising turn of events, San Francisco officials have put a halt to the installation of the new Twitter logo on the company’s headquarters. This decision comes after officials launched an investigation, claiming that the giant “X” sign did not meet the necessary design and safety permits.

Interestingly, this is not the first time officials have intervened in Twitter’s logo affairs. Earlier this week, they stopped the removal of the old logo, a giant bluebird, from the building. Their reasoning was that workers had failed to tape off the sidewalk, potentially endangering pedestrians if anything were to fall.

The initial reports on this logo snafu were covered by The Washington Times, shedding light on the situation.

According to Patrick Hannan, spokesperson for the Department of Building Inspection, any replacement letters or symbols on top of the building require a permit. This is to ensure that they align with the historic nature of the building and are securely attached to the sign.

It seems that even erecting a sign on top of a building requires a permit, as Hannan mentioned on Friday. The city is certainly taking its regulations seriously when it comes to Twitter’s logo changes.
