Exciting News! The WGA is taking action to end the writers strike that has been going on since May 2. They have confirmed that they will be sitting down with the AMPTP on Friday to discuss negotiations. In a note sent to its members, the guild stated, “The AMPTP reached out to the WGA today and requested a meeting this Friday.” They assured their members that they will provide further information after the meeting and advised them to disregard any rumors. This update comes after FilmmakerFocus revealed that both sides were planning to restart negotiations before the 100th day of the strike. It’s a significant step towards progress, although it doesn’t guarantee an immediate deal. There are still important topics to be discussed, such as minimum staffing, duration of employment, streaming residuals based on viewership, and AI. Stay tuned for more updates!
