Legendary Entertainment has made an exciting addition to their team with the appointment of Jason Clodfelter as the new President of Television. Clodfelter, who previously served as Co-President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, brings with him 17 years of experience in the industry. At Legendary, he will be responsible for developing new scripted series and limited series, joining the ranks of successful shows like Amazon’s “Carnival Row” and Apple’s “Drops of God”. Clodfelter will work closely with Mary Parent, Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production, while Carmi Zlotnik continues to oversee the production side.
During his time at Sony, Clodfelter played a key role in the production of popular series such as “The Night Agent”, “The Boys”, “Cobra Kai”, and many more. His departure from Sony comes after the renewal of his contract last year and the recent departure of Sony Pictures Television Studios President Jeff Frost. Katherine Pope has been hired to replace Frost.
In an internal memo, Pope expressed her excitement about working with Clodfelter and the rest of the leadership team. Legendary CEO Josh Grode also expressed his enthusiasm for Clodfelter’s arrival, highlighting his creative instincts and ability to work with the creative community. Clodfelter himself expressed gratitude for his time at Sony and excitement for this new chapter at Legendary Entertainment.
With Clodfelter’s expertise and Legendary’s commitment to fresh and innovative content, the future looks bright for the studio’s television department.
